World Song
Our way is clear as we march on,
And see our flag on high
Is never furled throughout the world
For hope shall never die
We must unite for what is right
In friendship true and strong
Until the earth in its rebirth
Shall sing our song.
Shall sing our song.
All those who loved the true and good
Whose promises we were kept
With humble minds whose acts were kind
Whose honour never slept
Those were the free and we must be
Prepared like them to live
To give to all, both great and small
All we can give
All we can give.
30th December 2010
Dear Guiders,
Compliments of the season and I pray that the New Year brings good tidings to all!
As you prepare for your unit activities, do remember that this is the 2nd year that we carry out WAGGGS's centenary celebrations with 'GROW' as our main theme and "Empowering girls & young women" as GGS's adopted Global Action Theme.
To this end, GGS's Training Branch is rolling out special activities to empower our girls with skills that will be showcased at the 100th day of 2011 celebrations on 9 April 2011.
We are inviting 25 units from each division to send participants for the following:
1. Juggling
2. Drumming
3. Japanese Dance
4. Cycling for Brownies
Each unit may send a maximum of 5 Guides/Brownies for each of the activities as the courses for all the Guide activities are heavily subsidized by Training Branch.
All activities qualify for the PNA points for 2011. At the same time, all participants can count their performance at the 9 Apr 2011 event to qualify for the Entertainer's Proficiency Badge. For those schools that participated in the Bishan Community Campfire on 11 Dec 2010, being involved in the 9 Apr 2011 event will earn their Guides the badge.
Please fill in the attached application form and send it via email to Jasmine at jasmine@girlguides.org.sg by the stipulated date.
**For juggling, please submit the forms by 8th January 2010. Please submit the forms for all other activities by 15th January 2010. (First come first serve basis!)
Have a great New Year!
Yours in Guiding,
Maz Mindi Peter
